Air Arabia Expands Domestic Routes: Agadir to Rabat and Tangier Flights Subsidized

The Souss Massa regional council allocates an annual subsidy of 21.3 million dirhams to strengthen air connections with other regions of Morocco. It is in partnership with the airline Air Arabia that 15 million are reserved for the Rabat service and 6.3 million for Tangier.

The council makes the air isolation of the Souss region one of its main priorities. By approving during its ordinary session the modification of two partnership agreements concluded with the low-cost airline Air Arabia, it intends to democratize air transport and better open up Agadir. The first agreement relating to the Agadir-Rabat line concerns the addition of two additional weekly flights between the two cities, which currently have three. The first is scheduled for March 29, and the second for October 25.

These lines will be operated by an Airbus A320 of the airline Air Arabia, with a capacity of 174 seats. The prices have been set at 300 dirhams one-way for the first 80 seats, and a maximum of 500 dirhams for the rest. Under this agreement, the Souss Massa Region is committed to increasing the annual amount dedicated to this line to reach 15 million dirhams instead of 9 million previously.

The second agreement, ratified and modified by the members of the Regional Council, concerns the strengthening of air services between Agadir Al Massira airport and Tangier Ibn Battouta, for a total budget of 12.6 million dirhams. The prices will not undergo any change and have been set at 300 dirhams for the one-way trip. The rest is variable depending on supply and demand, but will not exceed 530 dirhams.
