Agadir Tourism Surges, British Visitors Drive Growth

The city of Agadir was a very popular destination for tourists during the first ten months of 2024. More than 1.16 million travelers, including a significant number of British, visited the city during this period.
Tourism is picking up in Agadir. The capital of Souss exceeded 1.16 million arrivals between January and October 2024, representing "a double-digit increase of 14.01% compared to 2023 and an increase of 15.66% compared to 2019 in classified tourist accommodation establishments in the destination," according to the daily Les Inspirations Éco.
The British market stands out during the period, ranking second in terms of arrivals with 18.71%, after domestic tourists (34.42%). This growth is explained by the strengthening of air connectivity with the British market and an average length of stay exceeding one week.
The same trend is observed in terms of tourist nights, the publication notes, pointing out that British tourists "rank first in terms of tourist nights, reaching 25.33%, even surpassing the French market, which recorded 21.29% during the first ten months of 2024".
