Agadir Reopens Beaches and Eases COVID-19 Restrictions on Restaurants and Markets

New easing measures have been put in place by the public authorities at the level of the Prefecture of Agadir-Ida Outanane. They have decided to reopen the beaches throughout the region.
In a press release, the prefecture assured that in addition to the reopening of the beaches, it has authorized the opening of restaurants and the "Souk El Had" shopping complex, which must respectively close their doors at 11 p.m. and 7 p.m. The objective is to reduce as much as possible new contaminations related to the coronavirus.
It also called on the local population to mobilize for the fight against this pandemic and the resumption of economic and social activity. As for awareness campaigns, they continue with the strengthening of controls for compliance with preventive measures in all establishments.
The resurgence of new infections had prompted the local authorities to close public parks, beaches and the shopping center since mid-September for a period of 15 days. This decision had been unanimous and had been welcomed by the population.
