African Union Expresses Deep Concern Over Morocco-Algeria Diplomatic Crisis

The diplomatic rupture between Morocco and Algeria has sparked a wave of international reactions, particularly from the African Union, which has just expressed its "deep regret".
The President of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, expressed his "deep regret" following the turn of the crisis between these two neighboring countries, pillars of the AU.
"The President of the Commission deplores any deterioration of the fraternal, historical, multidimensional relations of the two Maghreb brother states and peoples," the AU said in a statement.
The President of the Commission has invited the two AU members to resolutely engage in a logic of peace and fruitful cooperation in the well-understood interests of the two peoples.
He reiterated the full availability of the AU to promote any initiative aimed at the resumption of fraternal relations between the two countries in the service of peace and prosperity in the Maghreb and in Africa.
