African Olympic Committee Honors King Mohammed VI for Sports Promotion

On Monday, August 19, 2019, in Rabat, King Mohammed VI was honored by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA). It elevated the Moroccan sovereign to the order of the African Olympic merit, in recognition of the efforts he has constantly made to promote sport.
The honor of presenting the distinction to Prince Moulay Rachid fell to Mustapha Berraf, President of the Algerian Olympic Committee and President of ANOCA, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 12th edition of the African Games, which Morocco is organizing until August 31, 2019, notes Huff Post Maroc.
It should be recalled that the said ceremony was chaired by Prince Moulay Rachid and took place at the "Prince Moulay Abdellah" Sports Complex in Rabat. Before the official opening of this 12th edition of the African Games, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission delivered a welcome address.
From August 19 to 31, the cities of Rabat, Casablanca, El Jadida, Salé and Khémisset will see great excitement during these Games, thus allowing the Kingdom to showcase the beautiful colors of sport and culture of the continent.
