$150 Million Renovation Planned for Morocco’s Iconic Ouzoud Falls Tourist Site

The completion of the rehabilitation of the Ouzoud Falls tourist site is a concern for the council of the Haut and Moyen Atlas d’Azilal territorial collectivities group. A partnership agreement has been approved in this regard.
150 million DH (MDH). This is the amount to be released for the completion of the rehabilitation of the Ouzoud Falls tourist site after the approval by the council of the Haut and Moyen Atlas d’Azilal territorial collectivities group meeting in ordinary session in October of a partnership agreement. The approval of this agreement is in line with efforts to upgrade tourist sites of importance in the region in order to strengthen the attractiveness of the province and its visibility on the tourism market.
Considered the most beautiful and highest waterfalls in Morocco, the Ouzoud Falls - which means waterfall of the olive trees in Berber - are about 110 m high, on three levels, on a picturesque geological site of the Tissakht wadi, at an altitude of 1,060 m in the High Atlas massif, in the central High Atlas. This must-see tourist site is located near the town of Azilal, 120 kilometers from Béni Mellal and 150 kilometers northeast of Marrakech. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, both very touristy and wild.
In addition to this approval, the elected council members also gave the green light for a partnership agreement for the rehabilitation of the Taguelft commune for an amount of 30 million dirhams, a convention for the upgrading of the center of the Ait Majden commune for the same amount, as well as a partnership agreement concerning the return of equipment to the Council of the Haut and Moyen Atlas d’Azilal Territorial Collectivities Group as part of efforts to open up the province and in anticipation of the cold wave.
