106-Year-Old Moroccan Woman Recovers from Severe COVID-19 in ’Miraculous’ Case

Each person cured of Covid-19 is an explosion of joy for the medical staff. But the one recorded at the regional hospital center of Fqih Bensalah is a miracle. A 106-year-old patient, admitted in critical condition to this hospital center, returned home after fully recovering from the disease.
The patient, according to Mehdi Bouhdadi, one of the medical staff members of the hospital center, had a respiratory rate ranging between 45 and 65% and had required admission to intensive care for 8 days, before undergoing treatment for an additional five days. Her recovery occurred after she benefited from the treatment protocol approved by the Ministry of Health. She will have to observe an additional period of voluntary quarantine at her home, but she is really out of danger, reports article19.ma.
Even if Covid-19 represents twice the risk for these people, some, like this Moroccan woman, manage to defy the established norms. A few weeks ago, the media reported on the recovery of a 106-year-old German woman. The French television channel BFM reported that in April, Bill Lapschies, a 103-year-old American World War II veteran, recovered from the disease just before blowing out his 104th candle. There is also the case of the recovery of a 102-year-old New Yorker, Angelina Friedman, who had been infected with the new coronavirus twice, in March and then in October.
