12-Year-Old Arrested in Paris for €200,000 Luxury Watch Theft

A 12-year-old Moroccan minor fled with a luxury watch worth 200,000 euros after burgling an apartment in Paris (16th arrondissement). Arrested in the Goutte-d’Or neighborhood, the teenager was released with a summons to appear before the juvenile judge responsible for implementing educational measures.
The facts date back to late July. Sliding window on the first floor broken, all rooms searched, luxury watches and jewelry worth 200,000 euros stolen... Back from vacation, a 48-year-old pharmacist "discovers that her apartment on rue Scheffer has been burgled," reports Le Parisien. She reports the burglary. The investigations, led by the investigators of the first district at the judicial police of Paris, then begin. They manage to identify the thief thanks to his fingerprints. They try to find this young thief without a home, already well known in the file of perpetrators of offenses, by broadcasting his description throughout the Paris region.
The investigations proved fruitful. A check during a police patrol on August 23, around 6 p.m., led to the arrest of the Unaccompanied Minor (UAM) in the Goutte-d’Or neighborhood in Paris (18th arrondissement). After being placed in police custody in the judicial police premises on boulevard Bessières (17th arrondissement) and questioned, the 12-year-old teenager was released with a set of educational support measures.
