Viral Photo of Veiled Women at French Welfare Office Debunked as Fake

In a photo montage recently republished on a large scale on social networks, we see about fifteen veiled women who would be in front of a CAF agency in Sarcelles, Île-de-France. This photo, which dates back to 2014, is simply false.
The republication of this photo has gone viral on social networks. The comments are pouring in from all sides. It’s turning into Islamophobia. The caption indicates that the photo would have been taken in Sarcelles, Île-de-France where a group of veiled women were gathered. A sign with the logo of a family allowance fund indicates that these women are waiting in front of a CAF agency.
"At first, I thought it was another country, but no, I see the sign behind... in blue... do you see it?? How do you expect them to find a job with this outfit. I have Moroccan friends who are bleeding from their eyes!!! Even in Morocco, we don’t see that many," comments an Internet user.
But the photo was not taken in Sarcelles. Not in France. AFP took the trouble to deconstruct this fake news. According to the French media, the photo was taken in London, in front of a police station.
