Violent Gang Clash in Lille Leads to Convictions and Kidnapping

Algerians have been sentenced to various prison terms after a violent brawl with Moroccans and a lightning kidnapping in the area of rue Jules-Guesde in Wazemmes (Lille). An Algerian had been shot.
The events date back to May 28. That day, a violent brawl had broken out between two gangs - Moroccans and Algerians - in the area of rue Jules-Guesde in Wazemmes, reports La Voix du Nord. A young Algerian was shot in the chest. Following the clashes, a man who knows the identity of the shooter hides in an apartment in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Shortly afterwards, a scene takes place. Villeneuvois have seen strangers throw the man, in his underwear, into the trunk of a car. In Lille, three Algerians aged 18, 24 and 40 deliver the captive to the police. They were arrested.
In early June, the first appearance. After three months, the suspects admit the facts. "I brought this captive from Wazemmes to the police station," claims one of them. "It wasn’t up to me to do that. From what I understood, the bullet could have hit anyone..." "Do you think the police would put someone in the trunk of a car to take them to the police station?" retorts the president.
The court delivers its verdict: two of the defendants were sentenced to six months in prison with probation, while the third was sentenced to six months with probation.
