Violent Clash in Brussels: Local Youths and Migrants Brawl Over Alleged Theft

In Brussels, a violent fight broke out on Saturday, January 23, between local youths and migrants. The report indicates several injured.
An incredibly violent fight broke out in the evening on Saturday between two groups of about ten people each on the Boulevard Maurice Lemonnier, near a butcher’s shop, in the center of Brussels, reports La Capitale. On one side, local youths, and on the other, migrants. The former accuse the latter of having stolen a cell phone belonging to one of their elderly mothers.
In the aftermath, an unleashing of unheard-of violence against the migrants. Armed with road signs, scrapers, etc., the local youths beat up the migrants. In a statement, Ilse Van de keere, spokeswoman for the Brussels Capital / Ixelles police, confirmed that her services went to the scene following a call reporting this "major brawl".
No arrests were made. The report indicates three injured people. They were admitted to the hospital.
