Villepinte: The film script of the fake police officers only offered two weeks of freedom to Ilyas Kherbouch

The 21-year-old young man, nicknamed "Ganito", saw his flight come to an end this Friday, March 20 in the Pyrénées-Orientales, in Canet-en-Roussillon. The Minister of the Interior expressed his satisfaction on social networks that the individual had been "arrested today by the research and intervention brigades without incident".

His escape on March 7 was a real film script. Three individuals posing as police officers had presented themselves at the Seine-Saint-Denis remand prison with a false warrant. Deceived by this stratagem, the prison officers had then handed over the prisoner, who was supposed to be extracted from his cell for police custody.

Following this unprecedented escape, a judicial investigation was opened in Paris. The investigation has already led to the indictment of two suspects on March 11. Among them, a major individual residing in Toulon is strongly suspected of having played the role of one of the fake police officers, accompanied by a minor accomplice.

Known to the police since his minority for multiple burglaries, the delinquent was serving four distinct sentences and was not to regain his freedom until 2035. He is notably implicated in the violent burglary suffered by the former Parisian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in 2023, a case for which he has appealed against his six-year prison sentence handed down at the end of 2025.
