Villejuif Park Attack: Suspect Shouted "Allahu Akbar" Before Fatal Stabbing

The perpetrator of the attack in a park in Villejuif had shouted "Allahu Akbar" before killing one person and injuring two others on Friday, January 3.
According to the Prosecutor of the Republic in Créteil, the assailant, a 22-year-old man, converted to Islam in May-June 2017, spared the life of a passer-by after forcing him to recite a prayer in Arabic.
Nathan C., a young man suffering from psychiatric disorders, had killed a passer-by and stabbed others, before being shot dead by the Anti-Crime Brigade.
The identity of the aggressor, unknown to the intelligence services, was revealed thanks to the bank card found in his bag, which also contained a copy of the Quran, Salafist works, and a will.
Since Saturday, the case has been handed over to the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office, which has opened an investigation to determine its ramifications.
