Vandals Target Belgian Mosque on New Year’s Eve, Damaging Entrance

The Al-Ihsaan mosque in Leuven (Flemish Brabant) was the target of an act of vandalism on the night of December 31 to January 1.
Built in 2016 after three years of work, the premises of the Leuven mosque were damaged. The perpetrators tagged the main entrance, before breaking the glass door with a brick found inside the building.
The worshippers, who came for the morning prayer on January 1 at 6 a.m., discovered the act of vandalism and immediately informed the police.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police proceeded with the usual findings and drew up a report. For now, the perpetrators and their motivations are still unknown, it is reported.
As for the spokesman for the mosque, he regretted these attacks that occurred "especially during the holiday period when the place occupies a central place".
