Unseasonable Heat Wave Sweeps France as Moroccan Air Mass Pushes North

France is set to experience a heat wave this week, with temperatures even approaching 30 degrees in some cities. The culprit, a hot air flow from Morocco.
This heat episode will also be caused by the Azores high pressure system settling in the country, reports La Montagne, which reassures that the temperatures will be pleasant and will simply have a taste of vacation.
According to forecasts, the peak is expected in the middle of the week with 30 degrees announced in the center, then in the south of the country.
"From Sunday, hot weather will spread across France. The Azores high pressure system will rise to Germany with, in its wake, hot air from Portugal and Morocco," explains Christophe Mertz, an expert at Météonews.
And to add: "No episode of dust from the Sahara is expected. The weather will just be dry and stable until Thursday. The situation could then deteriorate. The end of the week is more difficult to anticipate. The models have long been optimistic, but are less so now. Precipitation is possible."
