Undocumented Moroccan Man Faces Deportation from France for Domestic Violence

A 45-year-old Moroccan is threatened with expulsion from France. He is accused of numerous offenses and crimes.
Domestic violence against a vulnerable person, theft, etc. are the charges against him. The accused was brought before the public prosecutor’s office on Friday, March 3, and placed under judicial supervision with an obligation to leave French territory within a month at the latest.
Without papers, the man had been living for a year under the roof of a 58-year-old woman. She explains that they had met online four years ago. The hitch is that the Moroccan beats her up when he is drunk, says this vulnerable woman under guardianship. Exasperated by the repeated violence, she finally called the police station on Thursday to report that she was a victim of domestic violence.
The police went to the victim’s home in the Ker-Uhel neighborhood in Lannion. They saw the battered woman, with a bruise on her eye, which would result in four days of incapacity for work. They arrested the accused, who was about to leave the home. He had 1,700 euros on him, a sum he is said to have stolen from his victim.
After being brought before the court on Friday, the man will be the subject of a summons by report in six months.
