New twist in the Inass case, the "little martyr of the A10
Nearly forty years after the discovery of the child’s body along the A10 motorway, justice has finally set a date. Inass’s parents, of Moroccan origin, will be tried from November 9 to 27, 2026 before the Loir-et-Cher Assize Court, putting an end to an endless procedural wait.
The judicial epilogue of one of the oldest criminal cases in France will finally take place in Blois. Halima E., 71, will have to answer for acts of torture and barbarism resulting in unintentional death, while her ex-husband, Ahmed T., will be tried as an accomplice. The two defendants, who will appear free, will not, however, be charged with concealment of a corpse and habitual violence, as these acts are now time-barred.
On Bladi.net: Is France unable to try the murder of Inass, the little martyr of the A10?
This trial comes after years of legal battles and pressure from the civil parties. The commune of Suèvres, where the body of the 4-year-old child was discovered on August 11, 1987, had recently threatened to sue the State for its management of the deadlines. Child protection associations, such as Mouv’Enfants and Enfance et Partage, had also multiplied actions to denounce the urgency of trying the aging parents, identified only in 2017 thanks to DNA advances.

The holding of the hearing in Blois has been confirmed by the Court of Cassation, rejecting the request for a change of venue made by the Orléans public prosecutor’s office, which cited a lack of resources. Society will thus be able, in the words of the activists, to "give back what it owes" to Inass, whose ordeal had remained anonymous for three decades.
