Trial Begins for 2013 Fatal Stabbing of Nice Man in Juan-les-Pins

The trial of the three young people from Vallauris, accused of the murder of Zaccharia Aboulfadl, the 21-year-old from Nice who was stabbed to death on June 15, 2013 in Juan-les-Pins, opened on Monday before the Assize Court of the Alpes-Maritimes. The three defendants claim their innocence. The victim’s family, on the other hand, only demands that justice be done.
Two of the three accused are free. The third, Fayçal, has been in custody for a year and a half for a theft case. All aged 30, they deny having killed Zaccharia, stabbed in the back during a brawl that broke out in the early morning of June 15, 2013, on Rue Bricka in Juan-les-Pins. Clashes would have broken out that day between young people from the Moulins district and two teenagers from Vallauris, more precisely from Zaïne. Corrected by the former, the latter would have decided to take their revenge, explains the indictment.
An hour and a half later, about ten young people from Vallauris returned to Moulins. New clashes of rare violence were recorded. Deborah, a local resident, mentions blows from helmets, boards, iron bars... and knives. Stabbed in the back, Zaccharia, dying on the ground, called for help in vain. He eventually died from a hemorrhagic shock, reports Nice Matin.
On the surveillance cameras, the investigators of the criminal brigade of the departmental security managed to identify thirteen men and five young women. Anisse H.’s fingerprints, one of the three accused, were found on a helmet, after genetic analyzes that also revealed Zaccharia’s DNA. Anice Mohamed B., the second accused, would have given the coup de grace to the victim. The two defendants spent long months in Morocco and Algeria where they respectively fled after the events, we are told.
At the end of the investigation, the Grasse public prosecutor considered the charges and testimonies insufficient to refer the three suspects to the Assize Court. Not being of this opinion, the investigating judge issued an indictment for murder against the three young people. The debates before the Assize Court, we hope, will bring out the truth about this murder for which the Aboulfadl family has been demanding justice for ten years.
