Topless Femen Protesters Disrupt Tariq Ramadan’s Islamic Conference in France

Swiss Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan gave a conference last Friday in Saint-Germain-lès-Corbeil in the Essonne. During the conference, two Femen appeared before him, topless. They were immediately intercepted by security.
"Face to Islamophobia and injustice, resist with faith and intelligence." This was the theme of the paid conference to which Tariq Ramadan was invited in Saint-Germain-lès-Corbeil in the Essonne.
On the spot, two Femen, in a staging that is their own, went to disrupt the conference of the Swiss Islamic scholar. These activists who had appeared topless went to the end of their intention, by jumping in front of the speaker, before being quickly recovered by the security services. "Against rapists and fundamentalists, Femen resists!", they chanted.
In turn, Inna Shevchenko, the leader of Femen, posted the video of the operation on Twitter, accompanied by a sentence that looks like a warning: "Behind each victim, we are an army." But also, one could read, "Femen rises again against Tariq Ramadan, serial sexual predator and famous Islamic scholar, to support all the women who had the courage to denounce him."
In the wake of this action by the Femen, it received the support of Socialist Senator Laurence Rossignol, former Minister of Women’s Rights. On Twitter, the latter notably saluted "the political courage and the physical courage" of these activists.
It should be remembered that for a case of alleged rapes of two women in France, in 2009 and 2012 Tariq Ramadan has been indicted since February 2018, notes Le Parisien, which adds that the case has taken a new turn in September, with the consideration of new alleged facts that occurred on two other victims in Paris, between 2015 and 2016.
