Three French Nationals Arrested in Morocco on Terrorism Financing Charges

Suspected of being involved in the financing of terrorism and links with terrorist organizations, three French nationals, one of whom is of Algerian origin, were arrested on Monday in Salé.
According to the department of Abdellatif Hammouchi, the operation was carried out by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) in cooperation with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The DGSN explains in a press release that the investigations made it possible to uncover the premeditation of the suspects, who have forged close ties with the fighters active within Daesh, by collecting funds with a view to financing terrorist operations.
The accused were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office in charge of terrorism cases. The investigation continues with the aim of arresting their accomplices and other persons involved in terrorist acts, whether on Moroccan territory or abroad, it is further specified.
