Thousands March in Paris to Protest Rising Islamophobia in France

The weekend of October 26 and 27 saw demonstrations organized in several cities in France, to denounce the rise of "hatred against Muslims". In Paris, it was the Place de la Nation that was stormed by the demonstrators.
The demonstrators responded in large numbers to the call of the organizers, to protest against the stigmatization of Muslims, fueled in political and media spheres, reports Saphirnews.
Among the excesses denounced by the organizers of this protest rally, we could note "the release of Islamophobic speech, the endangerment of individual freedoms, the security drift and the violence that particularly affects Muslims".
They also regret the lack of firmness of the State against this outpouring of hatred against Muslims, observed for several months in France.
Among the speakers at this demonstration, we could note Mohamed Mechmache, President of the ACLeFeu and the comedian Yacine Belattar, both of whom resigned a few days ago from the Presidential Council of Cities set up by Emmanuel Macron, and which was supposed to lead the reflection on the issue of working-class neighborhoods.
Outside of Paris, several other demonstrations were organized in other cities. During these, the demonstrators called, for the coming days, to demonstrate in front of the headquarters of television channels, in particular CNews. On this channel, indeed, remarks qualified as Islamophobic were recently made by Eric Zemmour, recruited by the channel of the Canal + Group.
