Tech Prodigy’s Job Hunt Goes Viral: 21-Year-Old’s Innovative Approach Shakes Up La Défense

While Yassine Boussekine is due to join an engineering school in computer networks and security in September, he is struggling to find a company that can take him on as an apprentice. To achieve his goal, he is showing great ingenuity.
With a bachelor’s degree in computer science with high honors in his pocket, 21-year-old Yassine Boussekine has been fighting to find an apprenticeship in La Défense since March 2025. A mandatory preliminary step before his integration into EFREI, a school of nearly 5,000 students based in Villejuif, in the Val-de-Marne... at the other end of the region. "In fact, I’ve been there since March, even before the school’s response," he estimates.
Yassine sends messages on LinkedIn. Then his CV and a cover letter to 800 companies. Working in computer networks and security implies: choosing between the master’s degree at the university and the engineering school. "We graduate from the school with a network and the apprenticeship system allows us to gain experience," he points out. These efforts prove fruitless.
"The few responses were like, ’We’ll forward your CV and that’s it.’ No one got back to me," recalls the young student. I got one interview, but the school’s apprenticeship schedule didn’t work for them. I was willing to change schools for this training but no, it didn’t go any further..." Faced with this difficulty, he changes his strategy at the end of June.
With a sign where QR codes lead to his CV and cover letter, this resident of Garges-lès-Gonesse (Val-d’Oise) "roams the La Défense district (Hauts-de-Seine)," reports Le Parisien. "I’ve tried everything except this," he says. His initiative seduces the former LREM deputy of Val-d’Oise Fiona Lazaar. She shared it on her LinkedIn page. "I don’t know him, but his determination should help him get an interview!" says the one who is now a manager at Suez.
Yassine is on the verge of achieving his goal. He receives the support of Loyde, a young mother and... a recruiter on maternity leave. "You are extremely courageous," she appreciates, promising to circulate his LinkedIn profile and QR codes. "And your field, cybersecurity, is booming, all companies need it. I’m confident for you. This is the highest hurdle!" Direct contact could certainly bear fruit in the days to come.
