Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Fabricating Racist Threats at French High School

After complaining about receiving racist and threatening letters, a teacher at Jean Monnet High School in Libourne was taken into custody for "false reporting". An investigation has been opened.
The information, reported by the newspaper Le Résistant, was confirmed by the Public Prosecutor Loïs Raschel: "In light of new evidence gathered, an investigation has been opened on charges of false reporting to a judicial authority leading to unnecessary searches and aggravated fraud".
In custody since Tuesday at the Libourne research brigade, the teacher said she had received three racist letters and death threats: the first in December 2023, the second in September 2024, and the third in December 2024. In one of the letters, she was threatened to be "slaughtered like a pig", as well as "all the wogs in the high school", relays BFMTV.
Faced with these threats, the teacher’s colleagues exercised their right to withdraw for a few days. The school administration filed a complaint. For its part, the education authority reinforced security around the school, with regular patrols by a mobile security team and the establishment of a support unit.
