Suspected Arson Destroys Rambouillet Mosque; Fundraiser Launched for Reconstruction

Three days after the fire that completely reduced the Rambouillet mosque to ashes, an online kitty has been launched to support the association of Muslims in this town in the Yvelines.
Launched on Sunday, September 4, the kitty aimed at rebuilding the Rambouillet mosque has already raised more than 157,000 euros out of the 200,000 expected. "Our mosque has suffered a serious fire, suspected to be arson, which has destroyed everything and left an entire community without a place of prayer," the AMR said, stating that it is "looking for an emergency solution to be able to meet and pray in good conditions as soon as possible." "At the moment, we do not yet have any leads, but we place our trust in Allah," reports SaphirNews.
The Association of Muslims of Rambouillet has preferred not to wait for the authorities before taking responsibility. "Not having a precise idea of what awaits us, we prefer to take the lead in case the solution found were to require a heavy investment. For this reason, we have decided to create this kitty which will be used to meet the potential needs of the new installation," the AMR indicates. "In the event that the amount collected proves to be higher than the actual need, the surplus will be reinvested in the budget that will be used for the construction of the mosque once all the necessary authorizations have been obtained," the same source specifies.
