Survey: French Tourists Opt for Domestic Travel Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, few French tourists will come to Morocco this summer. This is at least what can be deduced from a survey by the French Institute of Public Opinion (Ifop).
Despite the lifting of restrictions on June 30 in France, only 52% of the French plan to go on vacation during the summer period, according to the Ifop survey report conducted for the website Voyageavecnous.fr. The decision to travel or not this summer is subject to the evolution of the health crisis related to the coronavirus. More than 8 out of 10 French people prefer to stay in the Hexagon this summer.
According to the study, two-thirds of the French (64%) want to go on vacation this summer, but they say they are "worried about having to cancel their vacation because of the health crisis." The proportion of vacationers "pessimistic about the fact that they can take place as they wish" has almost doubled (35%) compared to last year (19%), the report specifies. Also, 9 out of 10 French people (90%) say they are vigilant about the health measures implemented in anticipation of their next vacation.
Among the French who will not go on vacation this summer, 44% explain that they made this decision because of the coronavirus. They are not ready to take risks with regard to the spread of the virus (26%, significantly down from the 36% recorded in 2020) or fear being constrained in their movements (18%).
In addition, lack of money is the reason for the decision of nearly a quarter of those surveyed (22%) not to go on vacation this year.
