Sudden School Closure in Casablanca Leaves Students and Parents Scrambling

In Casablanca, students enrolled at the Bourgogne school group will not be able to finish the school year due to the sudden closure of the establishment without notice. A situation that causes distress among parents who are calling for urgent intervention by the Ministry of National Education. Concerned, the deputy Atika Jabrou, member of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), questions Mohamed Saad Berrada.
While the management of the Bourgogne school group in Casablanca justifies the closure by legal problems concerning the legality of the school, reported since the beginning of the school year, this sudden decision causes incomprehension among parents due to its impact. Parents must find an alternative establishment in the middle of the school year. A real ordeal in prospect, as students are deprived of their report cards, the "Massar" system having been deactivated by the establishment. As a result, it is difficult or even impossible for parents to enroll their children elsewhere, while many of them had already paid the tuition fees for the entire year, and cannot hope for a refund.
Faced with the situation, the Parents’ Association calls on the authorities to allow the temporary reopening of the establishment, to give guarantees that their children will not lose a full school year. Meanwhile, the parents continue to look for all possible solutions to save their children from an uncertain future. Some are considering going to court, while others are desperately looking for alternative schools.
The issue has reached the Moroccan Parliament. In a written question, MP Atika Jabrou, a member of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), asks the Minister of National Education and Sports, Mohamed Saad Berrada, to reveal the real reasons behind the sudden closure of the Bourgogne school group. She also called on the ministry to take urgent measures to remedy the situation. The elected official insisted on the need to maintain the activity of the establishment at least until the end of the school year.
