After the announcement of the results of the Baccalaureate 2020 in France, sociologist Baptiste Coulmont commented on the names that most often get the "Very Good" mention at the Baccalaureate and those that are less likely to get it.
First of all, the sociologist pointed out that girls obtained the "Very Good" mention more often than boys. Another finding: there are 60 names more present than others among the holders of this mention. The academic cites a few. The female names that top the list are: Joséphine, Adèle, Anouk, Apolline, Garance, Diane, Alice, Iris, Jeanne, Lison. As for the male names that shine at the Baccalaureate, we have among others, Gaspard, Augustin, Emile, Timothée, Félix, Etienne, Alban, Grégoire, Mathieu, Martin.
Baptiste Coulmont designates in the last place the names that are less likely to obtain the "Very Good" mention. We note: Jordan, Rayan, Allan, Walid, and Mehdi.
This year, the success rate at the baccalaureate is 95.7% after the catch-up. A very high score. The exam took place in a particular way due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
