Stranded Moroccan Women Give Birth in France Amid COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Among the Moroccan women stranded in France due to the suspension of flights and confinement, there are pregnant women who have given birth to babies.
A Moroccan woman stranded in France has given birth to twins; another has given birth to a baby boy. According to sources close to these families, the babies are in good health. The mothers, however, are living in the stress of the confinement measures imposed on citizens to curb the spread of the covid-19 that is raging in the country.
After the hospital, they are confined to their hotel rooms where they are supported by the Moroccan embassy in Paris and members of the Moroccan community in Paris.
About 5,600 Moroccans are stranded in France out of a total of more than 22,000 people hoping for a possible repatriation to the kingdom. Among them, 3,844 are housed and cared for by the Moroccan state.
