Stowaways Found on Ship at Dover: Moroccan Migrants, Including Child, Discovered

Moroccans, including a child, were found hidden on board a ship bound for Dover on April 4. The British Home Office has assured that these illegal migrants are "fit and healthy".

The discovery took place last Sunday at the port of Dover where the ship docked. In charge, the emergency services of the British county of Kent. Called, the police, ambulances and firefighters arrived at the western quays of Dover, confirms KentOnline. According to the BBC, the South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that it had been called at 11:30 pm last Sunday to intervene at the port. After this discovery, the security services continued to search the boat. No information has been provided, for the time being, on the fate of the five Moroccan migrants.

The English Channel has become a transit corridor for many illegal migrants heading to the United Kingdom. Already more than 1000 people have crossed the French department this year, the BBC reports. In 2020, they exceeded 8000. Last week, as they were crossing the Channel, "more than 200 migrants were intercepted," the same source specifies.
