Stones Hurled at Turkish Mosque in Romans-sur-Isère, Damaging Property

The mosque in Romans-sur-Isère, in the Drôme department, was the target of an attack with stone throwing. Significant material damage was recorded and a complaint was filed.
Several individuals targeted the religious building belonging to the Turkish community by throwing stones, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré, specifying that the worshippers were gathered inside the place of worship when the events occurred.
According to the Amicale Culturelle des Turcs association, no injuries are to be deplored. However, parked cars belonging to worshippers were damaged. "Believers were shocked, but we must not fall into this trap," said the mosque’s leader, who called on his faithful to remain calm.
Dispatched to the scene, the police were also attacked by the same individuals. It had to use a grenade launcher to restore calm. The association filed a complaint.
