Spanish Trucker Sentenced to 4 Years for Smuggling 90 Kilos of Cannabis into Germany

A Spanish truck driver in debt whose family lives in Morocco was sentenced to four years in prison for transporting 90 kilos of cannabis to be delivered in Germany.
In addition to the prison sentence, he was also fined 899,700 euros by customs. His truck was seized, reports Midi Libre. At the bar, he explained the reasons that led him to get involved in this illegal work. "I had debts. I have a wife and child living in Morocco... If I could, I would go back. It wasn’t clear in my head. I was in a state of bankruptcy. The State was demanding a lot of money from me. And I ended up doing this madness," said the defendant.
