Spanish Authorities Seize 6,000 Kilos of Hashish in Major Maritime Drug Bust

The national police and the customs surveillance service of the Tax Administration intercepted 130 miles off the coast of Huelva, a drug sailboat from Morocco with about 6,000 kilos of hashish. The three crew members were arrested.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the authorities of the United Kingdom and Italy. The agents began investigating this criminal network in early 2021, after learning that it was about to acquire a sailboat to ensure drug trafficking.
The ship, named Bibi and presumed to be flying the Maltese flag, made trips between Italy and Spain in February-March, before going to the Moroccan coasts to load the drug for subsequent distribution in Europe.
The drug sailboat was intercepted in the international waters of the Atlantic Ocean, 130 miles off the coast of Huelva. Its three occupants were arrested and nearly 6,000 kilos of hashish were seized.
