Spain’s Popular Party Backs King’s Call for Renewed Ties with Morocco

The Popular Party (PP) welcomes the remarks made on Monday by King Felipe VI, who expressed Spain’s willingness to "walk together" and "start a new relationship" with Morocco.
The PP has always defended and advocated the resumption of relations with Morocco, said PP senator from Melilla, Sofia Acedo, stressing the need for Spain to maintain good relations with Morocco, particularly for Ceuta and Melilla which are border cities with the kingdom.

Acedo also welcomed Spain’s proactive diplomacy, congratulating the Spanish king and government for the "important work" done to improve Spain’s diplomatic relations with other countries as well as the country’s image abroad.
The PP is in favor of the "rapid resumption" of relations with Morocco, the PP senator from Melilla also assured, urging the Spanish government to work for "good neighborly and effective relations with Morocco and with the Maghreb in general."
