Spain Issues Travel Advisory: Morocco Listed as "Exercise Caution" Destination

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just established a travel map for Spanish nationals abroad, drawing their attention to countries to be avoided due to high crime rates and insecurity. Morocco is on the list of countries to visit "with caution".
The economic crisis caused by the health restrictions related to Covid-19 has increased the crime rate in many countries, thus increasing insecurity. The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken this data into account to establish a list of travel recommendations for Spanish nationals abroad, reports ABC. Presented in the form of an interactive map with colors determining the degree of insecurity of the countries, this list is continuously updated according to events in each country.
Out of the two hundred countries analyzed, nine are considered the most dangerous in the world. Travel to these countries, colored in black on the map, "is not recommended under any circumstances." These are Myanmar, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Eritrea, the Central African Republic and Papua New Guinea.
Sixteen countries are "not recommended, except in case of extreme necessity" and are shown in red on the map. These include Venezuela, a country of great insecurity for five years, Palestine due to the situation in Gaza, Ethiopia due to the ethnic and political violence recorded in various regions of the country, Uganda, Haiti, Iraq, North Korea, Bangladesh, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Chad, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
It is also recommended that Spanish nationals "travel with extreme caution" in 31 countries, some of which are "to be avoided," including African countries such as Angola, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Kenya, Cameroon, Congo, South Africa, Algeria and Mozambique. Israel is also part of this range of countries painted in brown on the map. They can also go "with caution" to 52 other countries, some of which are "to be avoided." This is the case of Morocco, the United States, South Korea, Russia, Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine, Serbia, Belarus, etc. These countries are shown in orange on the map.
Spanish residents abroad can also visit about twenty countries, but must "exercise extreme caution during the trip" due to high crime rates. These countries, in amber on the map, are Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Ghana, Chile, Cuba, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. Forty other countries, including Botswana, Uruguay, Bolivia, Slovakia, Lithuania and Montenegro, are in yellow on the map. It is recommended to go there "with caution." Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Qatar, Brunei, Singapore, Taiwan and 32 European countries make up the group of 41 countries with the lowest risk.
