Spain to Earn €10 Million Facilitating Morocco’s First LNG Import via Reversed Pipeline

For the "first time", Morocco will buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the international market and transport it to its territory via the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline (GME) in the opposite direction, after having it transformed in a regasification plant in Spain. The operation should generate a profit of 10 million euros for Spain.
The agreement concluded with Spain to transport gas to the kingdom via the GME in the opposite direction, will make it possible to guarantee the certification of origin and traceability of the gas purchased by Morocco on the international market before its transformation in one of the Spanish regasification plants, assured sources from the Spanish Ministry of Ecological Transition and Enagás to El Mundo. Probably, Morocco will retain one of the companies that regularly import LNG into Spain, which already have the expertise in the matter.
Morocco will only be able to transport a small annual quantity of gas
