In six months, the United Kingdom sold more to Morocco than during the whole of 2025
British goods exports to Morocco reached £2.153 billion in the first half of 2026. In just six months, they exceeded by £667 million the amount recorded during the entire previous year.
The finding emerges from the latest data published on Friday, September 11, by the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS). In 2025, the United Kingdom had exported £1.486 billion worth of goods to Morocco. This threshold was exceeded as early as the first half of 2026.
Compared with the first six months of 2025, the increase is even more impressive. British exports rose from £745 million to £2.153 billion, an increase of 189%. Their value therefore almost tripled in one year.
Three months account for most of the increase
However, this surge did not occur steadily. The monthly data show three particularly significant peaks: £556 million in January, £581 million in May and £579 million in June.
The second quarter of 2026 alone accounted for £1.295 billion worth of goods shipped to Morocco, compared with £367 million during the same period in 2025. The quarterly increase thus reached 253%.
The pace slowed significantly in July. British exports to Morocco fell back to £132 million, compared with £212 million one year earlier. This decline shows that the increase recorded since January is partly based on several exceptional months and does not yet make it possible to conclude that there has been sustained growth at the same rate.
Over the first seven months of 2026, the total nevertheless reached £2.285 billion, compared with £957 million between January and July 2025, an increase of nearly 139%.
