Sidi Harazem Recalls Bottled Water After Contamination Detected in Morocco

Sidi Harazem water was forced to react, by deciding to withdraw the batch of contaminated bottles from the market.
This is how on Monday, November 11, Sidi Harazem published a press release which not only confirms the information relayed by the press, but also mentioned the withdrawal of its water bottles from the market to "preserve the health of the population". Indeed, on three identified batches of bottles, the brand mentioned the "non-compliance" reported by the INH (National Institute of Hygiene).
The Moroccan Federation of Consumer Rights revealed the presence in this water of a high level of Pseudomonas, a dangerous bacterium for humans, which can cause infections, particularly urinary and pulmonary, as well as septicemia.
And the Federation did not understand the silence of the Ministry of Health on such a crucial public health issue.
Nevertheless, the company explains that the production of the line concerned has been completely stopped, while emphasizing that this case concerns exclusively three limited batches, without giving more details.
The press release specifies that the defective production concerning the 0.5 liter batches, manufactured in August 2019, has been destroyed.
Bouazza El Kharrati, president of the FMDC, is delighted with this happy ending and believes that "this is the first time in Morocco that a company has reacted in this way to a complaint by acknowledging production deviations".
