Shocking Discovery: Four Bodies Found in Seine River Sparks Mystery and Investigation

Four bodies, including that of a North African, were discovered on Wednesday, August 13, in the Seine at the level of Choisy-le-Roi (Val-de-Marne). The victims have not yet been identified. An investigation has been opened.
The information is reported by BFMTV citing the Créteil prosecutor’s office and a police source. "Autopsies are planned to determine the causes of death. The identification of the deceased is ongoing," the prosecutor’s office said. For now, no link has been established between the different bodies.
On Wednesday, around 4 p.m., a RER C user reported the discovery of a floating body in the Seine at the level of Choisy-le-Roi. Quickly, a patrol of the local police went to the scene, finding the lifeless body on the surface of the water. The agents of the River Brigade then discovered three other bodies: one floating on the edge of the quay, another stuck in the branches, and a fourth drifting in the currents.
The victims, adult men, would be of African origin. One of them would be of North African origin. The bodies were transported to the forensic institute to be autopsied. They would have been submerged for several days. "We are not used to this kind of event. It is an act that raises a lot of questions. Is it criminal? Were these people intoxicated and did not survive the heat wave? Did they bathe or drown?" wonders a police source.
The investigation, entrusted to the Choisy police station, is ongoing. The judicial police of Val-de-Marne may be seized if necessary.
