Search Resumes for Missing Disabled Moroccan Girls in France

The police are still searching for the two disabled girls, missing since late 2016 from Nérac (Lot-et-Garonne). New excavations were undertaken at the beginning of this month around their home to find any new clues.
The authorities in charge of the investigation into the disappearance of Inès, 11, and Nawal, 13, have resumed excavations around their home, in Nérac and Barbaste, at the beginning of February. Since late 2016, the two girls have not given any sign of life.
Their mother, of Moroccan origin, is the main suspect in their disappearance. She is suspected of having gotten rid of the two disabled teenagers due to the difficulties she was encountering in caring for them after their father abandoned them.

Arrested, the fifty-year-old first confessed to having sent her daughters to Morocco, before changing her version, claiming to have rather entrusted them to a couple in Spain. Indicted for "aggravated voluntary manslaughter", she was placed in pre-trial detention then released.
The investigation is ongoing. So far, the searches have yielded nothing, nor has the Interpol alert.
