Search Continues for Missing 81-Year-Old Alzheimer’s Patient in Charleroi

Ahmed Selassi, an octogenarian suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, has been missing in Marcinelle (Charleroi) since October 17 and the search continues to find him.
As the hours go by, concern is growing in Charleroi since the disappearance, on Thursday, October 17, of Ahmed Selassi, 81 years old. Nearly 500 people on Saturday and 250 on Sunday participated in the search operations organized in the Charleroi region, reports Belga.
But these search operations carried out this weekend to find him have been unsuccessful. According to Mourad Boucif, coordinator of the search committee, the favored hypothesis is now that of a "benevolent or malicious" displacement of the octogenarian outside the initially combed area.
Selassi suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. He left his home in Marcinelle in the night of October 16 to 17 around 12:30 am. The octogenarian was last seen around 4:01 am at the Texaco Lurquin service station. He was wearing green sweatpants, a gray sweater, a blue jacket and a cap.
