Search Continues for Missing Moroccan Woman Who Fell into Belgian River

Imane Khraiss, a 25-year-old Moroccan woman, fell into the Senne with her bicycle on Saturday. She has been missing since then. The rescue services are still searching for her.
According to two witnesses who alerted the emergency services, the young woman would have fallen into the Senne as she was returning from work on her bicycle, indicates the Hal-Vilvorde public prosecutor’s office. The search is still ongoing in Eppegem (Zemst, Flemish Brabant) to find Imane, a resident of the locality, reports Sud Info.
For the moment, the searches carried out by the Kastze police zone and the firefighters in the river have yielded nothing. The young woman’s family has been without news of her since Saturday evening. The firefighters saw her body floating in the river on Saturday, but were unable to save her. "Two firefighters jumped into the water, but they simply couldn’t catch her," explains one of the two witnesses.

"Two firefighters did indeed enter the water in the hope of grabbing her body in the violent current and bringing it to dry land. Unfortunately, it didn’t work," confirms Alain Remue, from the missing persons unit.
The search continues. On Sunday, a federal police helicopter flew over the area. "We covered the entire route from Zemst to the Rupel in Boom," explains Alain Remue, who announces that the missing persons unit will analyze the course of the river to try to find the point where the young woman’s body fell.
