Schengen Visa Backlog: Moroccans Face Months-Long Wait for French Embassy Applications

Moroccans wishing to obtain a Schengen visa granted by the French embassy through a private company will have to wait until May 2020 before making online appointments.
The information is available on the website of the delegatee company, TLS, in charge of setting online appointments and receiving visa application files. Moroccans applying for their first Schengen visa are also affected.
As soon as the appointment is made from next May, visa applicants will be divided into three categories, depending on the nature of the processing required for their files.
The waiting time will be very long, both for the allocation of appointments and the examination of the files of those who apply, for the first time, for the Schengen visa, indicates Le360. The processing of applicants’ files, the duration of whose last visa "oscillates between three and six months", can take "a little while". Conversely, the processing of the files of beneficiaries of a previous Schengen visa, granted at a recent date, and whose validity period is one year or more, can be "very short".
