Saharan Dust Brings Heatwave to France, Temperatures to Soar Above 35°C

A new heat wave will hit France in the coming days. It will be accompanied by light Saharan dust storms.
A temperature rise of more than 35°C is expected in the southwest and will be accompanied by Saharan dust. The phenomenon could appear this Sunday and continue beyond Tuesday, with a moderate density, reports Le Parisien. This rise in Saharan dust would be at the origin of the sudden temperature increase that is announced and caused by a cold drop.
Defined as an isolated mass of air, colder in its environment, the cold drop shows a peculiarity in the northern hemisphere where it rotates counterclockwise. The Iberian Peninsula, and particularly Portugal, is currently experiencing this phenomenon. Contrary to France, remarkably low temperatures are expected there in the coming days.
To recall, France has been severely affected by this rise of desert dust several times this summer. This was the case around June 20, as well as the first days of August, and more recently, around August 25.
