Royal Air Maroc Faces Legal Action in Belgium Over Unpaid Ticket Refunds

Royal Air Maroc is expected to soon face serious legal troubles for non-payment of disputes related to the refund of cancelled tickets. The Belgian consumer protection organization Test Achats is preparing to forward the disputed files of the recalcitrant airlines to the competent authorities.
At the beginning of the health crisis due to the coronavirus and following the closure of the borders of several countries, airlines, including Royal Air Maroc, had cancelled a large number of flights. Since the resumption of their activities, RAM, like certain companies, are not in a hurry to settle this dispute.
Out of the 6,000 complaints received for cancelled air travel, through its online complaint form closed on October 15th, only a few airlines have responded favorably to the request of the consumer protection organization. While Ryanair, Brussels Airlines and TUI have already started to settle their debts towards their travelers, others have accepted the collaboration and have promised to regularize these cancelled tickets.
Like other companies reluctant to this refund solution, Royal Air Maroc has never responded to the call of Test Achats despite numerous attempts to make contact. "If these companies persist in their lack of response, Test Achats will forward the disputed files to the competent authorities," threatened the Belgian consumer protection organization.
