Royal Air Maroc Boosts Summer Flights for Moroccan Diaspora's Return

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) offers Moroccans residing abroad (MRE) a return to Morocco "under good conditions thanks in particular to the injection of significant seat capacities". It has set up a special system for the summer.

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has decided to set up this summer an offer of more than 6.5 million seats on more than 90 destinations across the four continents, in order to meet the strong demand. Compared to last summer, there is an increase of more than 300,000 seats. Nearly half of the seat offer, or more than 3.2 million, will be deployed on the European continent, with 671 weekly flights connecting 37 European destinations to 11 Moroccan airports, an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year. As for the regions of North America and the Middle East, the national airline will offer 533,586 and 282,361 seats respectively. In Africa, it will make available to passengers more than 1.3 million seats (up 19%) connecting Moroccan airports to 28 African destinations at a rate of 271 flights per week.

In order to meet the strong demand from Moroccans established in the Netherlands during this summer period, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will strengthen its presence in Rotterdam by launching three new direct air routes directly connecting the Dutch city to Tangier, Oujda and Nador. It also plans to launch three new routes directly connecting Casablanca to Abuja, Manchester and Naples. These air routes are part of the strengthening of Royal Air Maroc’s network to the African and European markets, particularly in the United Kingdom, a strategic market for tourism in Morocco, and in Italy where a large Moroccan community is established, it is specified.

In addition to the international lines, RAM also plans to strengthen the domestic lines by doubling the frequencies of certain routes from Casablanca, namely Laâyoune, Dakhla and Oujda, as well as the opening of two new transversal routes connecting Rabat to Errachidia and to Laâyoune.

For the successful implementation of this system, Royal Air Maroc plans to charter seven latest generation aircraft that meet international standards. These aircraft will be based at the airports of Tangier, Nador, Oujda. The Casablanca airport will welcome four aircraft, including one for long-haul flights.
