Royal Air Maroc Begins Repatriation of Moroccans Stranded in France Due to Pandemic

The Royal Air Maroc company has been continuing since Monday the repatriation of Moroccans stranded abroad due to the new coronavirus pandemic. At the height of the crisis, their number was estimated at more than 32,000.
Three flights from France to Morocco were operated by Royal Air Maroc on Monday. These are two flights that left Paris at Charles de Gaulle airport and another one from Lyon. On board, according to airport sources, 450 Moroccans returned to the Kingdom from France to Agadir. The beneficiaries of these air links, which took place in compliance with the precautionary measures and the health protocol, are of several categories, it is said. Among the repatriates are people suffering from health problems or chronic illnesses, the elderly, tourists in precarious situations and unaccompanied minors.
The Moroccan government, in accordance with the instructions of King Mohammed VI, has covered all the expenses related to the implementation of the program to repatriate Moroccans stranded abroad.
Even before these first repatriation flights from France, others had already taken place. These flights have taken place from Algeria, Turkey, Spain and Mauritania. Others are also planned in the coming days.
