Roschdy Zem Wins Best Actor César for ’Roubaix, une lumière’ Role

The Franco-Moroccan actor, Roschdy Zem, was awarded the César for Best Actor on Friday evening for the dark thriller "Roubaix, une lumière" by Arnaud Desplechin.
At 54, this discreet but essential figure is finally rewarded with a César, after being nominated three times in the category of Best Supporting Actor, Best First Film and Best Adaptation.
In this film, which allows him to win this distinction, the Franco-Moroccan actor Roschdy Zem played a charismatic, sensitive and humane police commissioner. This actor, who discovered theater at the age of 20, has a career marked by more than 80 films, combining arthouse and popular cinema.
On stage, the actor thanked all the directors he has worked with for the past 30 years and who have allowed him to win "this necessary thing for an actor" during his career.
