Renaissance Party Denies Endorsement for Controversial Writer Zineb El Rhazoui in French Legislative Elections

The call against the candidacy in the legislative elections of the journalist and writer Zineb El Rhazoui, accused of being too close to the far right, has apparently been heard. The Renaissance party has denied her endorsement, which was never actually considered.
The possible candidacy of Zineb El Rhazoui in the 9th constituency of French citizens abroad under the colors of Renaissance (ex-LREM) had aroused the anger of several observers, particularly on social networks.
In a statement on France Info, the official said: "I don’t believe that Emmanuel Macron validates each of the endorsements." He notably denied the rumor that Zineb El Rhazoui would be endorsed by the presidential majority in the elections of June 12 and 19.
"From my information, her candidacy has never been considered and she has not requested it," he specified, assuring that "for the moment, the ninth constituency of French citizens abroad (Maghreb and West Africa) has remained vacant during the various waves of endorsement by the party."
