Rare Photo Surfaces of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI with Royal Family Member

A very rare photo of King Mohammed VI and the mother of Prince Moulay Hicham, Lamia Essolh, caused a buzz this week on Instagram.
The Sovereign’s cousin would be nostalgic for the past. At an interval of a week, the one who no longer wants to be called a prince has published two photos of his mother, Lamia El Solh, in the company of Prince Moulay Rachid and King Mohammed VI, then crown prince.
Daughter of Lebanon’s first Prime Minister, Riad El Solh, Lamia had married Prince Moulay Abdellah in 1961. Ten years later, during the Skhirat coup, the woman narrowly escaped death at the entrance to the royal palace.
Moulay Hicham married Lalla Malika Benabdelali, a close associate of Aziz Akhennouch, Minister of Agriculture, in 1995. The couple have two daughters, Faiza in 1996 and Hajar in 1999.
