Rapper Mister You Released on Parole After Drug Promotion Conviction

Incarcerated since last July as part of the execution of the 24-month prison sentence that can be adjusted, rapper Mister You, whose real name is Younès Latifi, has finally obtained conditional release.
The decision was handed down yesterday, Monday, by a judge of freedoms and detention, reports Le Parisien, specifying that the rapper will leave his cell on Wednesday and will serve his sentence under electronic bracelet. He will have to fix his residence at his partner’s, who lives in the prefecture of Sarthe.
In March 2021, the artist had been sentenced on appeal in Paris for having promoted in 2019 on social networks an important drug dealing point in the Paris suburbs. "Dedication to Caliweed, in the 94, in Villejuif," he had launched in front of the camera. Mister You, who was unaware that he was the subject of a wanted notice, was arrested in July at Orly airport as he was leaving to enjoy a family vacation in Morocco.
"The execution of this sentence without prior summons is a procedural madness, and a shame on a human level in a context where my client has seen his twins born three weeks ago," his lawyer had reacted. And to add: "A hearing for the adjustment of the sentence will be held on September 21 in Paris."
